The workshop introduces a learning unit focused on the social aspects of DRM including risk awareness, preparedness, and communication. The objective of the unit is to train students to develop their skills and abilities to:
- analyse how people/different groups live with risk and integrate this information in disaster risk management strategies;
- analyse and design strategies to increase preparedness and adaptive capacity;
- understand and navigate political, economic and social dilemmas, barriers and enablers linked todisaster risk communication.
